Created in collaboration between two goldsmiths, this beautiful solid silver pendant brings together Trouvai’s hand-formed silver hearts with House of Hulkes’ signature pawprint and fingerprint impressions.
Once you’ve placed your order, your impression kit will be sent out to you. Follow the instructions in the kit to take the perfect impression. Place your completed impression back into the tin, and post back to the studio at the listed address on your instructions.
Your chosen finger/paw is pressed directly into the surface of the wax, capturing a unique mark that cannot be replicated. Once cast in silver, the fingerprint becomes part of the structure itself, evidence of hands at work rather than machines.
Every pendant is individually handmade in the workshop and will vary slightly, ensuring no two are ever alike.
TIPS:
Take the impression immediately after melting the surface, do not delay as the wax cools very quickly.
Ensure the entire surface of the wax heart is molten before pressing into it. Melt the surface slowly and surely, instead of hot and fast.
Take care with the molten wax as it can be hot.
Try to cover the entire side of the heart with your print.
Once the wax has dried, gently run your nail across the print and ensure that you can feel ‘ridges’.
Please note, the impression will transfer to metal exactly as it shows on the wax heart. We do not/cannot alter the print once we receive it. If you are unhappy with the appearance of the print, gently warm the surface and try again, but if it does not rectify we can provide replacement wax at £15 plus postage. You are more than welcome to purchase the spare wax alongside your initial order if you’d like to have the spare ready to go.
